With magnificent views of the bay of Lagos and the distant Monchique hills, Palmares golf features an 18-hole, par 72 course 30 minutes from Martinhal.

Our swimming lessons offer children a relaxed and fun environment in which to learn or improve this fundamental skill. The swimming lessons have a duration of 30 min and are always held privately. For those who want to keep fit, there is a well-equipped gym above the village square, next to the Village Pool. The Martinhal gym is equipped with the latest Technogym technology. For a good endurance workout, you’ll find a variety of treadmills, a cross trainer as well as a cycling home trainer and a spinning bike. For solid, versatile strength training, we recommend the all in one Technogym Kinesis system, a multifunctional high-performance equipment for strength, flexibility, coordination and balance.
The gym’s flooring ensures maximum comfort and safety during floor training on the mat. For your floor training you find various weights, kettlebells, a swiss ball, mats and a Tanita weight available. Those who prefer more support can book individual training sessions with one of our personal trainers. In addition to the gym equipment, we offer a variety of fitness classes and workouts every day in our Club 98, the Martinhal Sports Centre.

Sagres is a well-known surf destination and offers a wide range of unspoiled beaches with conditions for all levels – from beginner to advanced, the Sagres waves are a unique experience. The best part about surfing is that it’s so fun so that by the time you check your watch you’ve already been surfing for two hours, and you don’t want to stop!
Your surf experience includes:
- Pick-up at Reception at the agreed time (usually 09h30 in the morning).
- Travel in a typical surf school van with other participants to the beach, which is chosen on the day according to weather and sea conditions.
- The trip can take a maximum of 25 minutes.
- The experience continues on the beach and you’ll carry your board down to the sand where you will be given your wetsuit and get changed.
- On the beach you’ll get instructions and learn about surfing, sea and safety and start warming up.
- After warming up you are ready to get into the water and ride your first wave!

Minigolf in Martinhal – The course has 18 challenging tracks that can be played in any order.
Martinhal Petanque – This course offers the best conditions for a round of petanque with the whole family.
Martinhal Fitness Trail – This circuit is composed of 10 different stations, appropriately marked and located throughout the resort. This circuit was thought and designed so that children can execute it properly accompanied by their parents.
