A villa specialist guide to this stunning island

Myself and my colleague Ann, during our trip to the Algarve, got to spend a night in Lagos at Casa Amigavel. This villa really epitomises luxury in every sense and is perfect for a big family to spend their holiday in.

Casa Amigavel has the most incredible views overlooking Lagos, the Meia Praia and the Atlantic Ocean. This was remarkable to see both in the day and at night with the perfect view of sunrise and sunset. These views brought such relaxation to the day and allowed us to really immerse in the natural beauty of the Algarve. On top of the villa, there is even a lounge area to take in even more of the panoramic sights.

The garden has a large infinity pool, perfect for any swimmers in the family. There is also a fire pit that has ample seating for those family gatherings at night surrounded by the beautiful Lagos views. To the side of the garden, there is also a hot tub for the adults to enjoy. In the internal garden, there is an outside dining area as well as Table Tennis for all the family to have a game or two. This area is also provided with ample shading and privacy, so you can relax away from the Algarvian sun for a moment.

The main living area is cosy and has plenty of room, making it perfect for those relaxing family nights in. The TV has English channels, Netflix, Amazon Prime and more, with own log-ins required, so you can watch films or binge on your favourite series of which me and Ann were certain to do after our trip into Lagos. In the east wing of the villa, there is a 2nd living area that can also be used as an office, in case anyone has work that needs to be completed during their stay.

The Kitchen and dining area are very spacious, with the dining area fit for a big family to relax and enjoy a meal together. You can even overlook the stunning views of Lagos from the dining area, which is the perfect setting for any meal. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need to make the most out of your stay.

All of the bedrooms are en-suite and there is a choice of double and twin rooms to accommodate children in the party. Each room is in a similar style, but all have slightly different and unique interior touches. The two front bedrooms we stayed in overlooked the garden and the beach, which is the perfect setting to wake up to! The beds, myself and Ann commented, were the comfiest beds and we had the best night sleep in them. They really felt like you were sleeping on cloud!

Apart from being in the perfect location due to its breathtaking views, Casa Amigavel is only a 5-minute drive into the centre of Lagos. We decided to take an Uber into the centre, which is widely available and very cheap in the Algarve. Here you will find everything you need for your holiday, including the Lagos Marina, Meia Praia, the Pingo Doce supermarket and plenty of restaurants to suit all the family. We took a walk along the Marina at night and everything was all beautifully lit up, it was a such a serene sight to see. There were so many restaurants to choose from including Portuguese, Italian, Nepalese and so much more. In the end, we both decided we fancied an Indian and we went to an Dehli Darbar opposite the Marina. The food here was so delicious and the hospitality was amazing, it is definitely a restaurant we would recommend to go to whilst you are in the area.

Unfortunately, our time at Casa Amigavel came to an end, but it was truly an unforgettable experience with the best views and lots of tranquillity and relaxation. We can promise, you will not be disappointed when booking this villa.
