Marking the start of the Ria Formosa Natural Park, Praia do Ancão extends over two kilometres. With a backdrop provided by the pine trees and vegetation of the Anoa Valley and bordered by a magnificent dune landscape this a very popular setting for all types of holiday makers.

To get to the beach you can walk along wooden boardwalks, which have been built to protect the delicate sand dune landscape.
